She has taught as a college instructor at DePaul University, Loyola University, and Columbia College in Chicago. Lupescu is the daughter of retired Illinois State Senator Walter W. Dudycz. For the last eight years, she and her family have divided their time between Frankfurt, Germany and the United States.
